Guess who's back, back again. Dutchy's back, tell a friend!

What is your Minecraft username?

- _Dutchy_

What is your Discord name/tag?

- Dutchy#7265

How long have you been playing on Minesharp?

- I've been playing on Minesharp since late season 3.

How old are you?

- 15 years young.

What country and Timezone are you in?

- GMT+1, the Netherlands.

On average, how many hours per week do you play?

- Well, because of the server being down at the moment, it would have to be 0. But usually I play around 2 hours per day depending on how much time I've got on my hands.

Do you have any past or current moderation experiences? (Example: Owning your own server or being staff on another.) If so, how can you use that experience on Minesharp?

- I do! Let me explain all my past moderation experiences.

Minesharp:
I've been a Helper before on Minesharp, I believe I was promoted to Helper the 15th of May, 2020. And resigned late May because of some drama in my life. I thought, and still think it wouldn't be wise to stay on the team, but rather just resign and re-apply at a later date. Anyways, back on topic. These experiences I have gained would be able to benefit Minesharp in a great way, I know how to deal with certain situations, when to use my powers, or when I can solve a situation with just my voice. My experiences as a staff member have taught me to stay calm, and patient, even in the most difficult situations. It has also taught me to always seek help from higher ranking members of the team if necessary.

Discord:
I've been a moderator in a discord server of a small YouTuber named 'Eliza Lafybitz'. She posted a 'creeper aw man discord edition' video that blew up around a year ago. She created a discord server and was recruiting for staff. I decided to apply after becoming a pretty 'known' member in the community. And was accepted. Discord moderation has given me knowledge of how discord works, and how to deal with any rule breakers. Though most of the time it was a pretty chill place as the staff team was fairly organised and there was basically always staff online. Now, these experiences have also helped me before on Minesharp. When I used to be on the team, I have learned how to deal with tickets and keep the chat friendly for all users. And I believe these experiences will help me again.

Real life:
I work at a customer support section in a supermarket. Now, you may think: 'But Dutchy, how will you working at a supermarket be beneficial for Minesharp?' And I'll explain. Me helping customers, has let me experience how to properly socialise with those who need help, and knowing how to speak to them. I know when to be professional and help the customer as best as possible, but sometimes joke around a bit to give the customer a better mood. Same goes for Minesharp, I will be professional when it comes to doing my job as a staff member, and I will implement some comedy here and there to give the user a better mood.

What would you do to make Minesharp a better environment?

- I would bring my knowledge and experiences, to the Minesharp community. I know how to properly deal with certain scenarios, and will be able to pass on my knowledge to other staff members.

From what I know, being able to take criticism is one of the most important factors of being a staff member. Everyone messes up at some point, but it is beautiful when that same person knows what they have done wrong, and what they will do differently next time it happens. I understand there is a limit on how far you can 'mess up', I really just mean the small mistakes. I have no issues admitting mistakes, as it means I've learned from them.

I am, and would be dedicated to help this server in any way, shape and form. I love Minesharp as a whole, and the community. If I do say so myself, I am a pretty 'well-known' player in the community, and know most players/staff members personally. I personally think my best area would be the forums. I love giving others feedback for their staff applications, answering someone's questions, and making informative threads to help others. Here is an example of one of those threads: https://www.minesharp.net/threads/9582/
In conclusion, I would bring activity.

I would use my own creative way of thinking for the betterment of Minesharp. Creativity involves breaking out of already established patterns in order to look at things in a different way. Creativity is an important part of being a staff member because creativity helps you become a greater problem solver in all areas of your life. And no, I do not mean that I won't follow the guidelines. Because I will, even if I don't agree with them personally.

Some humor doesn't hurt either. At this point in time, it is fairly common to come across someone that is depressed, or generally just not feeling 'okay'. Making an individual laugh, just gives them an overall better mood, and not only that, but they feel like someone is there that listens to them, and someone that is there to help you. Which is often the case, they have people that talk to them, but not people that listen to them.

Why should we choose you as staff and not somebody else?

- I think I should be chosen over other applicants because of my many experiences of being a Helper, both in real life and online. Also, because of my commitment, my dedication, and my overall activity. I am friendly, and can remain patient in the most difficult situations, I am a creative thinker, and have a good sense of humor. I also believe me being a fairly 'well-known' player, is really beneficial for Minesharp, because I know most players, I know when they are being serious, or just being a meme. This section is fairly short because I've already explained all this on a larger scale in sections above. I want to avoid repeating myself.

I understand my application looks the same (in some areas) as my previous application. This is simply because my thoughts on these topics haven't changed, and still think this way.

I want to thank you for taking the time to read my application, and would love to hear a response!

Although I’m not the really the one to judge, I have looked over a lot of the recently denied applications and new applications, and I have to say this is the best one so far. Every part of of this application has such a high level of detail with very few grammar mistakes. And looking at the reasons other applications got denied, you have every reason to be accepted. I can see that you put a lot time into this, so good luck!
